DMBA pays special attention to respecting your privacy. We are aware that this is a fundamental right and one of the essential values of our association.

The website www.dmba.be is operated by the non-profit organization Dental and Medical Belgian Association, abbreviated as "DMBA," located at Chaussée de Haecht 194/196, 1030 Brussels, and whose business number is 694.734.091, acting as the data controller or co-controller as defined by the regulations on personal data, notably the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 concerning the protection of personal data of individuals.

What personal data do we process?

The personal data collected and processed concerning you primarily include, depending on the services used on the site, your choices and the settings of your device (notably regarding cookies and other trackers):

  • First name and last name (when registering simply or via social media),

  • Email address (when registering simply or via social media),

  • Physical address (when registering simply or via social media),

  • INAMI number (when registering),

  • Banking information (when ordering online training),

  • Phone number (when registering simply or when using the contact form).

The DMBA website also uses cookies to differentiate you from other users of our website. This allows us to provide you with a better service when you browse and also to improve our website.

A cookie is a small file containing letters and numbers, stored on your browser or on the hard drive of your computer, if you accept it. Cookies contain information that is transferred to the hard drive of your computer.

Cookies enable us to recognize and count the number of visitors while observing the navigation and usage of visitors on our website. This helps us improve the functioning of our website by ensuring that users can easily find what they are looking for.

How do we collect your data?

This data is collected either based on your consent or is necessary for the execution of your orders (execution of a contract).

Why do we collect your data?

Thus, your data is collected to:

  • Allow you to participate in the services and activities offered by DMBA,

  • Manage and optimize the relationship with users wishing to participate in training,

  • Send you information about our offers, news, and events (newsletters, invitations, and other publications),

  • Manage your potential participation in a competition,

  • Conduct statistics.

The data that is essential for DMBA to fulfill the purposes described above is marked with an asterisk on the various pages of the site. If you do not fill in these mandatory fields, DMBA will not be able to respond to your requests and/or provide the products and services requested.

To whom do we transmit your personal data?

Your data is processed by DMBA. It will not be transferred or made accessible to any third party, except (i) to DMBA's possible subcontractors for exclusively technical and logistical reasons (hosting and maintenance providers for the site, fraud management providers, etc.), and (ii) in the event of any restructuring of our company, including total or partial asset transfer, merger, acquisition, spin-off, and generally any reorganization operation. Your data may be used for managing and optimizing the relationship with users wishing to participate in training; and, unless you object, for sending information about DMBA's offers, news, and events, notably through advertising campaigns on social media. Finally, DMBA may be required to communicate your data to third parties when such communication is required by law, regulatory provision, or judicial decision, or if such communication is necessary to ensure the protection and defense of its rights.

What are your rights?

In accordance with current regulations, you have the right to access and rectify your data, as well as the right to request its deletion, to object to its processing, and to obtain its limitation or portability where applicable. You can also object to your data being used for the purpose of creating your member profile; in this case, you will no longer be able to benefit from personalized offers or services. These rights can be exercised directly with DMBA by email at info@dmba.be. You may be asked for proof of identity. Furthermore, you can request at any time to stop receiving our communications related to our offers, news, and events by using the hyperlink provided for this purpose in each email we send you. You can also contact us by regular mail at Chaussée de Haecht 194/196, 1030 Schaerbeek.

How long do we retain your personal data?

The data related to your registrations and orders will be retained by DMBA for a period not exceeding the applicable legal limitation periods. Upon the end of the contract, this data will (i) be archived for accounting and proof purposes during the aforementioned limitation periods or (ii) be destroyed if these periods have expired. The data used for sending communications related to the offers, news, and events offered by DMBA will be retained for a period of three (3) years from their collection or from your last contact with DMBA or on the DMBA website. At the end of this period, DMBA may contact you again to see if you wish to continue receiving our communications related to our offers, news, and events. Your data will also be destroyed as soon as possible following your unsubscribe request. Finally, the connection logs collected, subject to your consent, as part of the cookies and other trackers implemented on our site, will be retained in accordance with applicable regulations for a period not exceeding thirteen (13) months.

For any questions related to the collection and processing of your data by the DMBA site, you can contact the Data Protection Officer of DMBA ASBL by email at info@dmba.be. If you experience difficulties in exercising your rights, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. They attempt to resolve disputes amicably. A request can be handled directly and without excessive formalism by the frontline service of the Data Protection Authority via email (contact(at)apdgba.be) or by mail (Rue de la presse, 35, 1000 Brussels).
